AI in Agriculture
The reality is that AI in agriculture is being driven by the major ag suppliers. As long as you are using their products, they will supply you with a method to access your data. They all say that the data is yours, and it is! They tend to leave out the bit that says you can't use their software anymore to access your data if you switch suppliers.
Competent and professional farm advisors will always have most of your decision and result data and will have it in a format that can be electronically shared with you. This data can then be included into your calculated wisdom.
Let's expand a bit on what calculated wisdom can do, and how you can leverage your accumulated wisdom to enhance your decision making.
This is a key deliverable for us:
Linking your accumulated wisdom, predominately a non-tangible value, with your calculated wisdom, a 100% calculated value, empowers you to make an informed decision.
Here's an example of what we mean:
* Today, this season "feels" like a 2013. This is an accumulated wisdom decision.
* What day did your crop germinate in 2013? How much rain had you had before you planted? Is this season running ahead or behind 2013? Is there a season that is better matched to where you are today?
We can calculate all the information required to answer these questions. We are now enhancing your accumulated wisdom and enabling you to check that it was 2013.
* We have now established the year for you to link your accumulated wisdom to. The critical question now becomes: "What happened from today until the end of the season?"
This is where the calculated wisdom really kicks in:
* You may have had 45mm up until today in 2013 and in this season. However, what were the sea temperatures, etc? Is this just a rain coincidence?
* What happened in the seasons that had the same climate driver values as today? That is calculated wisdom.
It is calculated wisdom which can help you answer questions like:
* What can you expect going forward from today?
* What were those years?
*What were your decisions in those years - good or bad?
A lengthy explanation (we hope you put the kettle on) but we are trying to merge two very different data sources to provide you with the best available information to empower you to make the next, and best, decision for YOUR farm.
